LIFE Conceptu Maris researchers meet at the European Cetacean Society Conference in Catania

This year too, the appointment for Conceptu Maris is renewed with the European Cetacean Society Conference, which for the 35th edition will be held in Catania, Sicily, on 10-12 April 2024.
For Conceptu Maris partners, the activities begin earlier, on April 9th from 2pm to 6pm, with the workshop for professionals “Common Guidelines for Systematic Monitoring of Cetaceans Using Ferries/Cargos as Scientific Platforms, organized within the IMPEL project EU Marine Transborder Transects (by Ispra)  and LIFE Conceptu Maris (by Triton Research). During the meeting, the different approaches used in Europe for monitoring large pelagic species will be examined, using ferries as observation platforms and research laboratories.

In the following days, on 10-12 April, the other Conceptu Maris partners participate in the presentation of the latest works developed within the project. Among these there are studies relating to the most suitable areas for the conservation of cetaceans in the Mediterranean and the distribution of some key species.
Finally, during the movie night on 11 April, the film The information chain will be broadcast, relating to the collection of Conceptu Maris data in the field, developed by Triton Research in collaboration with the project partners.
