In the last ten years we have witnessed the diffusion of increasingly refined smartphone applications for doing citizen science activities. The aim is certainly to involve enthusiasts, but also people who have no technical training, in the collection of scientific data, taking advantage of the smartphones that everyone has in their pockets.

Life Conceptu Maris has its own articulated citizen science program, which involves the embarkation of volunteers on ferries to collect data on the presence of cetaceans and turtles in the Mediterranean, in collaboration with project partners.
Even those who are not on board can make a contribution thanks to two well-tested applications that can be useful for integrating the data collected by the Life Conceptu Maris.
