The Final Event of LIFE Conceptu Maris

After four years of research and international collaboration, the LIFE Conceptu Maris project celebrates its conclusion with a final event in Rome, summing up a long journey dedicated to the conservation of cetaceans and sea turtles in the Mediterranean Sea.

The event will begin on Tuesday, 25 November 2025, at the Auditorium del Ministero dell’Ambiente e della Sicurezza Energetica di Roma in Rome, with a technical-scientific meeting reserved for professionals, project partners, and the scientific committee.
The meeting will focus on a multidisciplinary approach to the conservation of cetaceans and sea turtles in the Mediterranean, featuring presentations by the scientists involved and networking opportunities with other organizations active in the field of marine biology and ocean conservation.

On Wednesday, 26 November 2025, at 5:30 p.m. at the Teatro Palladium in Rome, a public event will follow, open to nature enthusiasts and volunteers of the citizen science initiatives — an evening combining science, images, and voices from the Mediterranean.
The event will be opened by Antonella Arcangeli (ISPRA), the project’s scientific coordinator, with an immersive presentation combining sound and imagery.
This will be followed by contributions from international partners, testimonies from citizen scientists who joined researchers at sea, and the award ceremony of the photo contest “Profondo Blu.”
The evening will also feature the presentation of the book In alto mare by Elisabetta Mitrovic (Topipittori) and the screening of the final documentary “Senza confini”, produced by Triton Research, which recounts four years of research, encounters, and discoveries in the open sea.
